Welcome to McKinney!

McKinney is a city located in Collin County, Texas (USA). As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 54,369, while estimates for its 2004 population are over 90,000. According to the census, McKinney was the fastest growing city in the United States from 2000 to 2003 among cities larger than 50,000 people. This is due to the fact that McKinney is currently at the northeastern edge of the development in the fast growing suburbs north of Dallas. (Information provided by Wikipedia.)

McKINNEY, TEXAS (June 13, 2008) – In the August issue of Money Magazine, McKinney was ranked in the top 15 small cities to live in the country. McKinney debuted on the annual list at #14, besting other North Texas cities that include Carrollton, Richardson and Allen.

"For McKinney to debut this high on this prestigious list says a lot about our community," said Marketing Director CoCo Good.

"We've been sending information on McKinney to Money Magazine editors for quite some time, and when they finally paid a visit, they clearly liked what they saw. McKinney's unique character is the result of careful city planning that preserves its historic neighborhoods and natural environment while growing the city in a strategic way, with a diversified business base, quality of life amenities, natural open spaces, entertainment options, and one-of-a-kind developments that are keeping our home-town charm alive, while adapting to enormous growth," Good said.
